Training for prosecutors on the Right to Peaceful Assembly and Manifestation

On 30-31 May 2017, Council of Europe (CoE), within the EU funded project, organised a two-day training for prosecutors on the Right to Peaceful Assembly and Manifestation of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR).

The purpose of the training was to inform participants about the right to peaceful assembly and manifestation both in the Georgian legislation and at an international level. Helped by group works and the study of the case law of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), the 22 prosecutors got acquainted with the European Convention standards.

The event was organised in the framework of the European Union – Council of Europe joint project “Application of the European Convention on Human Rights and harmonisation of national legislation and judicial practice in Georgia in line with European standards”, being implemented under the EU-CoE Partnership for Good Governance.
