Law 121 on Ensuring Equality: 5 years in force in the Republic of Moldova

The international conference to mark 5 years of the implementation of the Law on Ensuring Equality will be held in Chisinau on 1 March 2018. It is organised by the Council for Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring Equality from the Republic of Moldova (Equality Council), in close collaboration with the joint European Union/Council of Europe project on "Supporting national efforts for prevention and combatting discrimination in Moldova", part of the Partnership for Good Governance.

The event will discuss various important issues related to the prevention and combat against discrimination, as well as to how to ensure equality in the areas of health and social protection, education, the workplace, etc. Special focus will be put on the establishment of the Consultative Council of Non-Guvernamental Organisations to the Equality Council and the expected implementation of the Code of Ethics for members of the Equality Council.

Representatives of the Council of Europe, European Union Delegation, National Council for Combating Discrimination from Romania, Ombudsperson Office and also national authorities, leading non-governmental and International organisations working in the area of human rights will participate at the conference.
