Training of field professionals in the fight against human trafficking

On 25 and 26 June 2022, the South Programme supported the organisation of a training course on the fight against human trafficking for field professionals in the Agadir region. The training was organised by Humanité et Inclusion (HI), in collaboration with the French Committee against Modern Slavery (CCEM) and the association “Voix des Femmes”.

A Council of Europe expert presented the national and international legal framework for combating trafficking in human beings to 25 field professionals from civil society, including project managers and psychologists. A training kit, developed in partnership with the National Anti-Trafficking Commission, was also provided to the participants.

Participants strengthened their capacities in detecting potential victims of trafficking through a variety of practical exercises, including a simulated interview with a potential victim. This type of training not only addresses the capacity building needs of this target audience, but also allows the content of the training to be refined according to its impact, with a view to developing a catalogue of training courses at national level.
