The joint EU/Council of Europe action on “Promotion of Good Governance: Fight against Corruption, Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism in the Southern Mediterranean” (SNAC 5) officially launched

As an integral part of the South Programme, the project “Promotion of Good Governance: Fight against Corruption, Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism in the Southern Mediterranean” (SNAC 5) was officially launched in the framework of the launching event of South Programme V on 13-14 March 2023 in Lisbon.

A dedicated workshop focusing on anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and financing of terrorism took place to allow beneficiaries to exchange on ongoing legislative reforms and respective challenges. Moreover, jurisdictions shared their experience related to the accession to Council of Europe conventions and the further engagement of youth in the prevention and fight against corruption.

The project SNAC 5 aims to support the anti-corruption (AC) and anti-money laundering/combatting financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) measures and competent authorities by providing technical assistance to beneficiary jurisdictions through joint and subregional actions.
