The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between AICTO and the Council of Europe through the South Programme V and CyberSouth+. Discussions also covered joint efforts to organise a regional conference for personal data protection authorities, scheduled for April 15–16, 2025, in Tunis. This event aims to bring together key stakeholders to address challenges in the field, exchange expertise, and promote best practices.
H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor reaffirmed AICTO’s commitment to supporting the Council of Europe’s initiatives in this domain, highlighting the organisation’s pivotal role in advancing personal data protection and cybersecurity. He also referred to AICTO’s study, "Protection of Personal Data in the Arab Region in Light of International Standards," which sheds light on current challenges and global best practices. These efforts align with AICTO’s 2030 vision: "Building a Smart, Secure, and Sustainable Arab Digital Future."
Ms. Denise Mazzolani also reaffirmed the Council of Europe’s dedication to promoting digital rights, governance, and security. She highlighted the importance of AICTO’s role in this field and expressed her commitment to strengthening collaboration to achieve common objectives.
