Intercultural Integration Academy in Morocco

In the framework of the South Programme III, an Intercultural Integration Academy was organised in Marrakech, Morocco, on 18-19 February 2020.

The Intercultural Integration Academy brought together participants from ministries, cities and NGOs from Morocco, Tunisia, Palestine* and Jordan, to focus on interculturalism in policymaking and city strategies, introducing the anti-rumours methodology and the function of the intercultural cities’ national networks.

The Academy raised awareness on the positive effects of the intercultural policy model, paired with an exchange of good practices from the participating cities and the national networks of Intercultural Cities. The Intercultural Integration Academy also highlighted the benefits of membership in the Intercultural Cities Network.

The Intercultural Cities is a Council of Europe programme supporting local authorities to design and implement inclusive integration policies. The programme is based on the Intercultural integration policy model which focuses on enabling communities, organisations and businesses to manage the diversity of people in a way which ensures the equal value of all identities, cohesion and competitive advantage.
