Joint Closing Event for European Commission DG-HOME co-funded projects on Combating Sports Manipulations in Strasbourg on 15 and 16 June 2017
The closing event aimed to present the outputs and results of the four projects, which focused on various -yet complimentary- aspects of the fight against the manipulation of sports competitions within the European Union and the Council of Europe Member States. The projects all started in early 2016 and will run until summer 2017. They have all been co-funded by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Migration and Home Affairs.
The KCOOS Project has been working towards assisting countries with the technical and practical aspects of combating sports manipulations, including the promotion of the international legal text, the Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions, adopted by the Council of Europe in 2014. Thirty-three countries from the European Union and Council of Europe states have taken part in the various activities of the project, representing ministries (sport, education, finance, interior), the sport movement (organisations, federations, athletes, etc), the betting industry (operators and lotteries), betting regulatory authorities, LEA and judicial authorities, at national and international level.
The project is aimed to continue under a different format as KCOOS+ from mid-2017. For more information, please contact us and click here.
