Opinion adopted by the Venice Commission on improving the legal framework of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan

During the 126 Plenary Session on 19-20 March 2021, the Venice Commission adopted the Opinion on the Concept Paper on improving the legal framework of the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The opinion was requested by the Chairman of the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan Mr. K. Mami by letter dated 20 January 2021 in the context of reforms to law enforcement and in the judicial system of Kazakhstan.

The Venice Commission prepared this Opinion in the framework of the action "Promoting efficient functioning of state institutions and public administration" within the Central Asia Rule of Law Programme 2020-2023 which is a joint initiative, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
