Public officials from the Ministry of Family and Social Services have strengthened their skills in promoting inclusive public services through a four-day Training of Trainers on Social Inclusion held in Ankara. The training enhanced participants’ knowledge and facilitation skills on social inclusion, communication, and conflict resolution, with a particular focus on the inclusion of disadvantaged groups, including Roma communities. Through interactive and experiential learning methods, participants explored key concepts such as prejudice, discrimination, equality, empathy, and inclusive governance.
The programme combined theory with practice through sessions on Living Together, Inclusive Public Institutions and Services, Communication Skills, Conflict Management, and Non-Formal Education Techniques. Participants also engaged in hands-on practice sessions, presenting parts of the training programme and receiving peer feedback to improve their facilitation skills.

Additional sessions on human rights, coexistence, and discrimination enriched the program, helping participants link inclusion principles with real-life public service challenges. The event concluded with a comprehensive evaluation session and the presentation of certificates to the new trainers, who will go on to deliver similar trainings within their institutions and communities.

The training used participatory, learner-centered methodologies, emphasising empathy, equality, accessibility, and justice as cornerstones of inclusive public service. By strengthening trainers’ capacity to deliver social inclusion-focused programmes, the Roma Integration III Programme continues to contribute to building more equitable and cohesive societies.
