NETWORK FOR FEMALE SWIMMING COACHES
Country: Norway
Organisation responsible: The Norwegian Swimming Federation
Main topic addressed: Gender equality in coaching
Type of resource/practice: Creating a network for female swimming coaches
Discipline: Swimming
Target group(s): Female swimming coaches of all levels
Timing: 2018
Language: Norwegian
Brief description of the practice: The Norwegian Swimming Federation wants to inspire more females to become swimming coaches at higher level. Therefore, they invited female coaches for a lunch meeting at the Norwegian championship in March 2018. Here, the coaches discussed what a network could help them do in order to take the next steps in their coaching “career”, or to find inspiration to continue coaching in the future. It also held a seminar in August 2018 and will have another lunch meeting at the Norwegian Junior Championship in November 2018. AFacebook group has also been created so that the coaches in the network can communicate more easily.
