Kick-off meeting
21 January 2016, Strasbourg (France)
Balance in sport kick-off meeting
Following political input from the Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for sport and the EU Informal Meeting of Sports Ministers, in 2015 the EPAS Governing Board and Consultative Committee strongly supported increasing the co-operation between the European Union and the Council of Europe in the area of sport. To this end, the two Organisations have launched three new joint projects in the field of sport in 2016: two under the Erasmus+ programme: "Balance in sport" and "Promotion of the Council of Europe Standards to safety, security and service at football matches and other sport events" (ProS4), and one on “New integrated mechanisms for co-operation between public and private actors to identify sports betting risks” (KCOOS) (a pilot programme launched by DG Home).
The launching event took place on 21 January 2016 from 12.30 pm to 2pm at the Palais de l’Europe in Strasbourg.
