Organised in the framework of the All In Plus joint European Union - Council of Europe project

Preceded by a reception organised by the Ministry of Sports of Luxembourg and the screening of the film "Sportives : le parcours médiatique des combattantes", directed by Marie Lopez-Vivanco and produced by Patrick Chevallier (12 February, 6.00pm - 9.00pm)

Background

The overarching goal of All In Plus is to highlight the benefits of greater gender equality in sport. The key objectives are to ensure that the relative invisibility of women in sport and the ongoing lack of awareness about gender imbalance in sport and related issues are brought clearly to the forefront.

The project is structured around three pillars:

  1. Data collection and analysis in six key areas (leadership, coaching/officiating, participation, media/communication, gender-based violence in sport, gender equality policies and programmes);
  2. Creation of an online resource centre containing best practice examples;
  3. Work with and through the media to ensure greater awareness-raising about gender inequalities in sport.

Objectives

The closing event will bring together high-level representatives of the European Commission and the Council of Europe, Luxembourgish athletes and other high-level sportswomen, as well as sport journalists, stakeholders, project partners and national co-ordinators of the joint project “All In Plus”. The results of the data collection campaign of this 2-year project involving 21 European partners will be presented, as well as the analytical report and its recommendations.

Keynotes speakers will be invited to discuss the global perspective of gender equality indicators, the future of women in sports media and best practices on gender equality in sport.

A press conference will be organised with local journalists as well as representatives of the “All In Plus” network of sports media professionals.
