The French Minister of State for gender equality Marlène Schiappa announced that gender equality will be a priority for the French Presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in 2019 (May to November).
In her intervention during the opening session of the World Forum of Democracy, Ms Schiappa underlined the need to “work together to promote these women’s rights and take steps for them to be able to break this glass ceiling; with the ultimate goal, for future generations, of totally eliminating it”.
