About Balance in Sport
“Balance in sport - tools to implement gender equality” was implemented between 1 January 2016 and 31 December 2016. It was a pilot initiative whose aim was to identify and test generally agreed gender equality indicators in the field of sport, which allow for a uniform approach when collecting data and mapping the situation of women’s participation in the sport world in Europe.
Five strategic areas were covered by the project: gender equality in leadership, in coaching, in participation; gender-based violence, and the media coverage of women and men practising sport (both in a quantitative and qualitative approach).
