Green Transition and Green Agenda Training Module I for Central Level Institutions

As part of the Roma Integration III Joint Programme of the Council of Europe and the European Union, the first part of a training series on the Green Transition and Green Agenda for central level institutions was hosted online on December 6, 2024. The session, attended by 60 participants, focused on key topics such as the EU Green Deal, Circular Economy, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) models. The training also focused on the necessity of including Roma in the green transition process and adequate policy development.

The training aimed to equip civil servants in the Western Balkans and Türkiye with knowledge about sustainable development, green transition, and environmental policy. It also provided participants with the opportunity to engage in productive debates, exchanging ideas and experiences on how to implement sustainable policies in their respective regions. The goal was to help participants develop and implement policies that promote a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient environment.

The second part of the training will address further key areas, including Renewable Energy and the Just Transition, continuing to support green transition efforts across the region and ensure the inclusion of Roma and vulnerable groups in this process. This initiative is essential in building the capacity of government officials, ensuring they are equipped to drive positive change towards sustainability within their respective Beneficiaries.
