Strengthening justice
The European Union and Council of Europe joint programme Partnership for Good Governance continues to support the countries’ justice reform aiming at:
- increasing the level of independence, professionalism, and accountability of the judiciary in the Eastern Partnership region and the efficiency of court management in line with CEPEJ recommendations.
- establishing independent training institutions that have sufficient resources to deliver high quality training for judicial and law enforcement authorities, thus contributing to increasing public trust in the judicial systems.
- providing support to align the legislative and policy frameworks regulating the judiciary of the Eastern Partnership countries with European standards.
The third phase of the Partnership for Good Governance includes six country-specific projects implemented in this thematic area, most of them in continuation of the previous phases and built on the results achieved so far.
