In close cooperation with the Kosovo* Foundation for Open Society, the Roma Integration III Joint Programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe, organised a key workshop in Durrës, Albania, focused on drafting the Mid-Term Report on the implementation of the Action Plan 2022–2024 for the Strategy for the Advancement of the Rights of Roma and Ashkali Communities (2022–2026).
The workshop brought together institutional representatives and experts to assess the implementation of strategic objectives aimed at improving the lives of Roma and Ashkali communities in Kosovo. The event marked a significant milestone in the mid-cycle review of the national strategy and action plan.
Key Achievements
- A draft version of the mid-term report was successfully prepared, reflecting the progress made in the years 2022 and 2023, and incorporating preliminary data from 2024.
- Concrete results across the five strategic areas were reviewed and aligned with the objectives of the Poznan Declaration.
- Most of the reporting institutions contributed. The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will collect and provide data in follow-up actions.
The methodology combined presentations of achievements, data review, and discussion-based evaluation, ensuring that progress could be compared year-over-year for all five areas covered by the strategy: education, social welfare, health, housing, and civil registration.
