The Armenian Minister of Justice requested an Opinion on the final version of the amended Electoral Code, in the light of amendments following the first Joint Opinion made public on 10 May 2016, and to the extent that these amendments implement the recommendations presented in the opinion.

According to the Second opinion made public in July 2016, the Electoral Code amended on 30 June 2016 takes on board a significant number of previous recommendations.

This activity falls within the framework of the Programmatic Cooperation Framework (PCF) for Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and Belarus, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
