The issue of domestic violence is raised, as well as the barriers that Roma women are facing when reporting it.

In Bulgaria, 77% of Roma girls drop out of school before completing secondary education, and no longer participate in employment or additional training. Without access to information, it is difficult to make good decisions about family, health, work, and life. Information can change lives and give power back to these girls.

Young Roma women speak about their background, their dreams and aspirations and about the impact of education.
“Giannoula Magga” (Greece)
Giannoula Magga is a JUSTROM facilitator fighting for the right place in the family and in society, for women. She wishes to break the pattern of the patriarchal family, where women get married young, have children, and are not able to pursue a career or future.
She went to school as an adult, to gain power for herself and now inspires other Roma women to do the same.
“Alexandra Karagianni” (Greece)
Alexandra Karagianni, JUSTROM legal consultant, shares her experience growing up in West Athens as a member of the Roma community. She experienced racism, discrimination and violence, and domestic violence. She chose to become a lawyer after having experienced the unfair conviction of a relative due to prejudice, and to claim justice for the people who cannot get it.
“Empowerment” (Greece)
Three JUSTROM facilitators seek to empower women. They explain how they work, and what they have achieved. The video also presents two Roma girls who were inspired to go back to school by JUSTROM, and they recall the benefits this has had.
"Invisible people” (Greece)
In Greece, there are many problems concerning stateless Roma people and who are “invisible” to the Greek state. Without citizenship, access to schools, health services and claiming their rights becomes almost impossible. The video focuses on the work of JUSTROM’s team of legal experts to provide support to Roma who are facing this issue.
