On 12 December 2020 the team of JUSTROM Greece in partnership with Schedia - Center for Educational and Cultural training organized the webinar “Access of Roma to education and justice: barriers and recommendations”.

The target group for the event were teachers, professionals working with Roma communities in municipality centers, members of the Roma community and other people interested in human rights.

The goal of the event was to showcase the existing connection between education and empowerment, social integration and access to justice for the Roma community. In particular, the speakers highlighted the significant role played by schools in fighting segregation and inequalities that impact the lives of Roma children every day.

The webinar was moderated by Mr Christos Iliadis, JUSTROM Greece National Coordinator and it was addressed by Ms Anastasia Vafea, Director of Schedia, Mr Theoni Koufonikolakou, deputy Ombudswoman for children’s rights, Ms Kalliopi Lykovardi, deputy Ombudswoman for equality and Ms Maria Gavouneli, President of the Greek National Commission of Human Rights.

In total, 348 users connected to the webinar over the span of 3 hours.
