Aiming to equip law professors at the Faculty of Law of the Baku State University with the capacity of tutoring the Council of Europe Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (HELP) course Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, an online training session was organised by our project in Azerbaijan.
Through a two-day training session, participants had the possibility to get acquainted with this HELP course, the online platform and the courses available as well as with main elements of the Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence (Istanbul Convention) as the main international standard in the field.
The participants who successfully complete the course will become certified trainers, skilled to run the HELP course on Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence as well as other HELP courses in the country. This pool of course tutors will further contribute to raise awareness on the Istanbul Convention and advocate against domestic violence and violence on women.
This training session was organised in the framework of the project "Raising awareness of the Istanbul Convention and other Gender Equality Standards in Azerbaijan", funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II.
The online course Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence has been produced as part of a project co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe.
