As part of the South Programme II initiatives, and in view of Morocco’s adoption of an organic law on individual requests before the Constitutional Court, the Council of Europe, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and Liberties of Morocco has organised a seminar in Rabat, on 13 May 2015.
In application of Article 133 of the Moroccan Constitution, important choices have to be made in order to design the future system of individual requests before the Constitutional Court.
The seminar – which took place at the presence of the Moroccan Minister of Justice and of other high-level representatives of the judiciary – presented the experience of Jordan’s recently-established Constitutional Court in dealing with objections of unconstitutionality, which was followed by the presentation of the European experience, at the presence of representatives of the Constitutional Courts of Lithuania, Spain and Belgium.
