The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) expert team in charge of the joint program "Towards strengthened democratic governance in the Southern Mediterranean", travelled to Rabat and Fez from 6 to 9 October 2015. The experts had seminal exchange of views with senior representatives of the Ministry of Justice and Liberties of Morocco as regards, amongst others, the development of the Court’s Business management software, which now includes a number of quantitative indicators of the CEPEJ.
Besides, the Council of Europe experts met with representatives of the Court of Appeal in Rabat, the Commercial Court of Casablanca and the Administrative Tribunal of Rabat to present their draft reports on judicial time management.
In conjunction with that, both sides exchanged views on potential measures that could be taken in order to optimise the functioning of the courts. Finally, the Court of Appeal of Fez - a new pilot court of CEPEJ - was also visited for the establishment of a CEPEJ coaching program.
