As part of the South Programme II initiatives, a Tunisian delegation from the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) has taken part in the meetings of the Committee of political affairs and Sub-Committee on the Middle East of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), on the 22 April 2015 in Strasbourg.
Following their meetings with the PACE Secretary General, the Venice Commission, the Directorate of External Relations and the Office of the General Directorate of Programmes the Tunisian representatives have ultimately expressed their desire to cooperate with the COE in the reinforcement of the ARP counsellors’ capacities, with focus on improving assistance, communication and development of legislative texts.
