Within the framework of the South Programme IV, a regional Workshop on “anti-corruption standards of the Council of Europe and their monitoring” was organised online on 22 and 23 February 2021. The event gathered officials from beneficiary institutions from Jordan, Morocco, Palestine* and Tunisia.
The aim of the workshop was to increase awareness on Council of Europe anti-corruption standards by focusing on thematic issues such as investigation of corruption, integrity and anti-corruption policy and system, corruption and political funding, whistleblowing and protection of whistleblowers, independence, specialisation and means of anti-corruption authorities, as well as on the monitoring practice developed by the Council of Europe Group of States against Corruption (GRECO).
The workshop was also an opportunity to exchange on related experiences, trends in the region and examples provided by the beneficiaries.
The Council of Europe will continue to provide tailored support and assistance to beneficiaries interested in bringing their legal and institutional frameworks closer to Council of Europe standards.
