Strengthening International Cooperation: Four HELP Online Courses Launched for 160 Egyptian Prosecutors

160 prosecutors have commenced four HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) online courses, launched on 18 May in Cairo, as part of the ongoing partnership between the Council of Europe and the Egyptian Public Prosecution Office.

The courses cover :

  • artificial intelligence,
  • combating trafficking in human beings,
  • cybercrime and electronic evidence
  • international cooperation in criminal matters.

This initiative, launched under the South Programme VI, aligns with the Public Prosecution Office’s strategy to strengthen international cooperation and build the capacity of young prosecutors to address global challenges, particularly those arising from technological advancements.

Over the next three months, participants will benefit from high-level training tailored to Egypt’s legal context, delivered by national HELP tutors in Arabic. Each course is adapted to the Egyptian legal framework, ensuring practical and relevant expertise for participants and their professional roles.

Selected participants who successfully complete the courses will have the opportunity to attend a HELP Training of trainers session, enabling them to share their newly acquired knowledge with their colleagues. Future plans include expanding these courses to a broader group of legal and related professionals, fostering continued development and international collaboration.

The activity is organised within the framework of the South Programme VI, "Strengthening the Euro-Mediterranean legal space for shared prosperity and human security", a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe cofinanced by the two organiastion and implemented by the Council of Europe.
