Protection of personal data: start of cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia

The President of the INPDP outlined the legal framework for the protection of personal data in Tunisia, the composition of the Authority, its different missions, its achievements, and its powers.

Participants referred to the importance of international cooperation in strengthening the right to protection of personal data through the support of supervisory authorities and the sharing of expertise at the regional and international level.

The working visit also provided an opportunity to present to the Algerian delegation the South Programme V for the countries of the Southern Mediterranean, and particularly its component on the protection of personal data, which aims, among other things, to create a common legal space between the two shores, to support governments in adopting regulations in line with international standards in this area, in particular Council of Europe Convention 108+, and to support supervisory authorities in the delivery of their mission, including through peer exchanges.

At the initiative of the INPDP, the working visit was supported by the Council of Europe within the framework of the South Programme V
