A total of 97 Algerian judges and prosecutors successfully completed four online courses under the HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) Programme on 23 April 2026.
The courses, launched in October 2025 in cooperation with the Higher School for the Judiciary, covered critical topics such as corruption prevention, cybercrime and electronic evidence, data protection and privacy rights, as well as combating trafficking in human beings.
Over a four-month period, the participating Algerian legal professionals had the opportunity to enhance both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills on these priority issues. Their dedication has led to remarkable outcomes, with an impressive 98% success rate among participants.
These HELP courses served as comprehensive training tools designed to strengthen the knowledge of legal professionals on relevant international and European standards. They provide information on key international and European instruments, as well as their practical application across Europe and beyond.
The activity is organised within the framework of the South Programme VI, "Strengthening the Euro-Mediterranean legal space for shared prosperity and human security", a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe cofinanced by the two organiastion and implemented by the Council of Europe.
