12th UniDem Med regional seminar on

In the framework of the South Programme IV, the Venice Commission is organising the 12th UniDem Med Regional Seminar on "Reform of public administration: new challenges and new operating methods", in co-operation with the Presidency of the Government of Tunisia. This seminar takes place online from 15th to 17th of December 2020.

More than one hundred international experts and senior public officials from the Southern Mediterranean (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine * and Tunisia) will take part in this event . Participants will exchange good practices aimed at modernising the administration based on job and competency management and planning. The seminar will cover the following themes:

  • mobility and professional transitions;
  • skills management and performance evaluation;
  • gender equality and the means to promote and support the professional career of women; and
  • establishment of a sustainable and inclusive framework for constructive social dialogue within the public administration.

The main objective of the UniDem Med Campus (University for Democracy) is to contribute through peer-to-peer exchanges to the modernisation of the administration in the Southern Mediterranean by enforcing law and consolidating institutions. This initiative is supported by the South Programme since 2015 and aims to strengthen the legal capacities of senior civil servants in areas related to good governance, rule of law and human rights as well as to strengthen the links between the public administrations from the region.

 

The South Programme IV is a joint programme of the Council of Europe and the European Union, financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
