The European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages (ECRML) is a treaty to protect and promote historical regional and minority languages in Europe and is one of the two main legal and inspirational frameworks for this Project.
Although the Framework Convention for the Protection of National Minorities and European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages are the main legal and inspirational frameworks for this project, other Council of Europe standards and mechanisms will underpin this work.
