Brief desciption of the resource/practice:
Launched in February 2020, the “Ambassadors” program promotes and encourages women's cycling. It weaves together a network of female cyclists who are passionate about cycling, and helps novices get started. Each ambassador proposes cycling outings in her respective region. Over 100 outings are organized each year. Since the launch in 2020, over 1,000 cyclists have taken part in outings organized by the Ambassadresses.
The goal is to create a network of women cyclists across France, encourage the sharing of experiences and expand the community of practitioners.
This program is part of the federal feminization plan of the Federation launched in 2019, which aims to structure and develop women’s cycling around 5 axes (access and promotion of the practice, support to women high-level athlete, formation, feminization of professions, communication and marketing).
