Brief desciption of the resource/practice: 

Achieving gender equality in sports is essential for building an inclusive, fair, and diverse sporting environment. This charter reaffirms the commitment to eliminate gender-based discrimination, promote equal opportunities, and ensure fair representation of women and men in all areas of sports. 
This is an innovative approach in the sports sphere of Luxembourg.

The four main objectives of this charter are:

  1. Commit to gender equality in sports.
  2. Develop the participation of women in physical and sports activities.
  3. Combat gender-based biases and stereotypes in sports.
  4. Promote the role of women in sports and advocate for women's sports.

By signing the charter, clubs/federations commit to:

  • Implement measures and actions to guarantee, promote, and maintain equality in sports.
  • Challenge and eliminate gender stereotypes in sports, including media representation, marketing, and communication.
  • Facilitate and promote women’s participation in sports by providing the necessary conditions and resources.
  • Promote equal visibility of women's  and men’s sports in the media and public events.
  • Promote balanced representation of women and men in decision-making bodies, management positions, and leadership roles in sports organizations.
  • Implement information and training initiatives to raise awareness and educate about the principles of equality and their application in daily practices

All signatories commit to implementing this charter and actively contributing to creating a more equitable and inclusive sporting world.
