Brief desciption of the resource/practice: 

1. DEFINITION OF THE LABEL
All sports associations in Esch can apply for the "Sport & Gender Equality" label, provided they meet a number of criteria. The association applying for the label must comply with all mandatory criteria.
The label is awarded based on three levels (depending on the percentage of points earned), in increasing order:

  • The "Sport & Gender Equality" Bronze label (subsidy of €2,500)
  • The "Sport & Gender Equality" Silver label (subsidy of €5,000)
  • The "Sport & Gender Equality" Gold label (subsidy of €7,500)

2. OBJECTIVES OF THE LABEL
The "Sport & Gender Equality" label aims to contribute to:

  • Supporting women’s sports.
  • Increasing female participation in sports.
  • Promoting gender equality between women and men in sports.
  • Combating gender-based stereotypes in sports.
  • Promoting gender-balanced decision-making within organizations

3. GENERAL CRITERIA FOR OBTAINING THE "SPORT & GENDER EQUALITY" LABEL
To be eligible for the "Sport & Gender Equality" label, the following three mandatory criteria must be met:

  1. Signing the "Gender Equality in Sports" charter.
  2. Having at least one team for collective sports and/or at least two female competitors in individual sports in the women's championship.
    For sports disciplines where men are underrepresented, the following criterion will also be considered: having at least one team for collective sports and/or at least two male competitors in individual sports in the men's championship.
  3. Submitting the completed questionnaire no later than January 10th of the relevant year.
