TRAINING ON COEDUCATIONAL PRACTICES IN P.E. CLASSES
Country: Spain
Organisation responsible: High Council for Sport
Main topic addressed: Gender equality in participation (grassroots or elite sport)
Type of resource/practice: Educational tools (training activities, curricula, educational materials, etc.)
Discipline: Multi-sport
Target group(s): P.E. teachers and sport trainers
Timing: 2018
Language: Spanish
Brief description of the practice: High Council for Sports has elaborated educational materials and is organising training courses to teach good co-educational practices to P.E. teachers and sport coaches. It´s still very common in P.E. classes for teachers to decide on different activities for girls and boys, following stereotyped patterns. Therefore, the High Council for Sports has elaborated educational materials (digital format) on aspects such as the current situation of physical activity of girls and boys, guidelines and methodology of co-education and on ensuring equal opportunities between both sexes. The High Council for Sports also offers free of charge training to P.E. teachers to help them teach with gender mainstreaming in mind.
