Brief description of the practice: This report is based on a survey of 3,500 women footballers playing at elite level. The report covers pay, tournament prize money, education, childcare, discrimination and match-fixing. It explores how the career path for women in football is only now becoming a viable option, revealing how football has fallen far behind other sectors of society when it comes to gender equality. In addition to presenting the data, the report contains recommendations for steps to ensure that ways start to be paved for decent and secure jobs for women as professional footballers.
