PROJECT EQUALITY
Country: Norway
Organisation responsible: Hedmark Idrettskrets
Main topic addressed: Gender equality in leadership
Type of resource/practice: Research / study reports
Discipline: Multi-sport
Target group(s): Management, coaches, volunteers, clubs, general public
Timing: Questionnaire will be circulated in 2019
Language: Norwegian
Brief description of the practice: Hedmark Idrettskrets wishes to address gender equality issues in sport, within the region of Innlandet (Hedmark and Oppland) and particularly to identify key challenges faced by women who wish to take up leadership roles in local sports clubs. These challenges will be identified through a thorough research-based questionnaire to hear from grassroots and top-level members of our Organisation, as well as in-depth first-person interviews with our subjects. Local interest groups, such as Oppland Idrettskrets, Norsk Tipping, Høgskolen Innlandet and Likestillingssenteret, amongst others, will also be involved in the project through a partnership. Once we have the results of our research, workshops and other related courses in order to improve areas of concern will be implemented.
