Brief description of the practice:

The Permanent Commission on Women’s Sport (FR: Conférence permanente du sport féminin), created by the “Ethics and professional sport” act of 1 March 2017, and set up on 5 September 2017, will contribute to measuring and guiding the policy in favour of developing the practice of women’s sport. This body, chaired by the Minister of Sport, is a forum for reflection, exchange and debate on women's sport. It brings together all the actors concerned to enable a balanced representation between women and men in sport, to increase the structuring and professionalisation of women's sport and to promote the media coverage of women's sport. Its work programme aims to identify and mobilise public and private levers for the economic development of women's sport. Thus, the members who have been appointed within this body come from sport, media, economic or even institutional backgrounds.

Four themes are followed within the working groups: the development of sport practice (from grassroots to high-level sport), the economy of sport, media coverage and access to responsibilities.

The ambition of this conference is to participate in the implementation of the axes of the ministerial roadmap by ensuring equal access for everyone to the practice of sport. Recommendations emerge and will be translated into an action plan.
