Brief description of the practice: The goal of the “Let’s Start the Change” programme was to increase the female talent pool for sports leadership positions by providing skills and confidence to women. Networking and opportunities to share experience were also offered to further encourage the participants to seek and accept leadership positions. The programme was well received by the participants and contained, among others, courses about leadership, management, self-confidence and decision-making. After each course, participants were evaluated according to four criteria: activity (responsibility and representation), initiation (action to reach the results), discussion (tolerance to differing opinions), and foresight (summarising of information and making conclusions). In general, participants scored well and four of the most active were selected to become mentors for other women.
