Brief description of the practice: GirlPower Football School and #tagsport Football Academy aim at increasing participation of women and girls in grassroots football. Among their activities, the schools organise open and free of charge training sessions for women and girls who have never played football before, to allow them to try out the sport and decide if they would like to continue training. In addition, regular classes and tournaments have been organised since 2013 for women and girls who are already involved in the sport. Participation in grassroots football in also promoted in schools, assisting them to introduce football into their PE curriculum and ensure equal access to training for girls and boys, and through a corporate programme, offering businesses the chance to involve their female staff in football training.
