The Central Asia Rule of Law Programme is one of the two co-operation programmes of the Council of Europe involving Uzbekistan. The country also participates in the European Union/Council of Europe Joint Programme “Support to reforms of electoral legislation and practice and regional Human Rights instruments and mechanisms in countries of Latin America, Central Asia and Mongolia”.

Apart from co-operation programmes, Uzbekistan has solicited opinions of the Venice Commission on a number of its legislative initiatives.
