On 27 August 2021, the President of the Venice Commission, Gianni Buquicchio, gave an opening speech at the Symposium “The Internet Era: the Rule of Law, the Values of the Person and the State Independence”, organised by the Constitutional Council of Kazakhstan and the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions. The Symposium coincided with the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan.
Participation of the President was organised in the framework of the action "Promoting efficient functioning of state institutions and public administration" within the Central Asia Rule of Law Programme 2020-2023 which is a joint initiative, co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
