The "Guidelines for Work of the National Councils of National Minorities in the Republic of Serbia“ will be presented in the Grand Hall of the Parliament of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina” on Thursday, 26 August 2021, starting from 09:30.
Opening remarks will be given by:
- Szakallas Zsolt, Vice-President of the Provincial Government and Provincial Secretary for Education, Regulations, Administration, and National Minorities – National Communities
- Tobias Flessenkemper, Head of Council of Europe Office in Belgrade
- Dalibor Nakic, Vice-President of the Co-ordination of the National Councils of National Minorities
- Gordana Comic, Minister for Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue
- Pasztor Istvan, President of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina
The “Guidelines for Work of the National Councils of National Minorities in the Republic of Serbia” were developed as a necessity to unify the regulations in the field of minority’s rights which have been constantly revised during the last years. These Guidelines are primarily intended to serve the needs of the members of the NCNM in exercising their powers, containing important information on the main instruments and mechanisms for the protection of national minority’s rights.
The event will be fully open to the media and journalists can participate in a short session prior to the event (9:30 – 10:00), with questions and answers from the keynote speakers.
Simultaneous interpretation will be provided.
This event is organised by the Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities – National Communities in co-operation with the action on “Promoting Diversity and Equality in Serbia” part of the joint European Union and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”.
