North Macedonia: Operationalisation of National Action Plans for the Implementation of the Strategy for Social Inclusion of Roma 2022-2030

The Joint European Union and Council of Europe Roma Integration III Programme convened a workshop to support the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of North Macedonia in developing seven operational plans. These plans pertain to objectives outlined in the National Action Plans for 2024 and 2025, ensuring the implementation of activities in core areas such as addressing antigypsyism, civil registration, housing, health, culture, education, and employment.

The workshop took place between 17 and 19 April 2024 in Ohrid and included representatives from line ministries responsible for implementing the National Action Plans. In addition, representatives from national institutions, civil society, and international organisations such as the EU Delegation in Skopje, UNHCR, and OSCE participated.

The participants focused on operationalising measures and activities feasible to be implemented by the end of 2024 and 2025. The workshop identified activities relevant to be included in the operational plans and implemented with the support of Roma Integration III.

The active involvement of all participants in the working groups underscored their dedication and commitment to the integration of Roma and the improvement of the status of this marginalised community.
