In 2013, Bilbao did a pilot experience in a local Youth Center inviting young people to fight against stereotypes and prejudices via several comic workshops. This initiative will be replicate to all Youth Centers during the Bilbao’s C4i antirumours campaign.

Here you could find the Botkyrka process in identifying rumours, as it could be useful in your detection process, and afterwards. Entitled “Rumours in Botkyrka – A study of common rumours which warm an Intercultural Botkyrka”, the report is based on an Internet questionnaire on rumours in Botkyrka which was carried out within the Botkyrka municipal district in July and August 2013, and on an analysis of a number of relevant studies previously carried out by the Multicultural Centre with a focus on the situation in Botkyrka.

Learn about this interesting initiative: Books in the Living Library are people representing groups frequently confronted with prejudices and stereotypes, and who are often victims of discrimination or social exclusion.

A good way to know how use visual tools against stereotypes. Migrantas is an association based in Germany, who works mixing visual arts, graphic design and social sciences. Members of the collective, mostly women who have themselves immigrated to Germany, develop the projects with other migrant women in a horizontal dialogue. The pictograms section is really amazing!

Entitled “Imigraçao – Os Mitos e os Factos”, this document has been done by the Portuguese Office for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue (ACIDI). The document provides information on myths and rumours about migration and diversity, providing factual data to counteract them.

Video of the Antirumores Project, an initiative to export the Barcelona antirumours strategy to 4 Spanish cities developed in 2013. The video is an opportunity to know different activities held in Fuenlabrada, Getxo, Sabadell and Tenerife.

Fuenlabrada participated in the 2013 Antirumours project developed in 4 Spanish cities. The local campaign was focused on children and families, and one of its activities was the children’s tale ‘It all happens unintentionally’.

Done by the ACLU - American Civil Liberties Union (January 2008), this leaflet provides facts to dismantle myths related to immigration. Some of the data could be useful to complete the local contra-rumours arguments.
