UZBEKISTAN: Modernisation of the public administration in Central Asia and respect of the rule of law principles – international conference

On 12-13 May 2022, an international conference “Modernisation of the public administration in Central Asia and respect of the rule of law principles” will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The conference aims at facilitating dialogue and exchanges between the state institutions of Central Asian countries on the means to improve the functioning of the public administration. Participants of the conference will exchange their opinions on the rule of law principles, constitutional and legal challenges as regards to the public administration reforms, innovation and digitalisation in the public administration, professional development, retraining and performance management in civil service.

It is expected that the event will be attended by senior civil servants from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as well as Venice Commission experts from France, Germany, Georgia, Italy and Portugal. The conference will be opened by Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, Mr Ruslanbek Davletov, the President Emeritus and special representative of the Venice Commission, Mr Gianni Buquicchio, and the European Union Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Ms Charlotte Adriaen.

The international conference is organised by the Venice Commission in co-operation with the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan in the framework of the joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe, Central Asia Rule of Law Programme, which is co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
