Charlotte Girard-Fabre, Chair of the Consultative Committee of the Council of Europe’s Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS), spoke on 27 May 2024 at a Hearing of the Parliamentary Assembly’s Culture, Science, Education and Media Committee in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she presented an update on the work of the Council of Europe’s Sport Division in the area of gender equality. This also included the work of EPAS in the area of equality and an update on the joint European Union (EU) - Council of Europe (CoE) project “All In Plus: promoting greater gender equality in sport”.

This meeting, hosted in the framework of the presentation of the report on “Protecting human rights in and through sport: obligations and shared responsibilities” by Kim Valentin (Denmark, ALDE), was the occasion for Parliamentarians to raise questions on the situation of gender equality in sport in Europe, an important phase before the preparation of an upcoming PACE recommendation on gender equality in sport.

The two other speakers on the panel were:

- Ms Nagin Ravand, UEFA licensed football coach, GLOBALL, Denmark

- Ms Annaliza Tsakona, FIFA International Relations & Public Affairs
