On 10 December 2021 the third meeting of the Steering Committee of the Project "Support to the judicial reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia" was held online.
The Project aims at promoting judicial independence, the effectiveness of legal proceedings and access to justice in Armenia by providing legal drafting support to the post constitution justice reform processes in the fields of justice, judiciary and disciplinary frameworks, as well as by enhancing the application of mediation and arbitration in accordance with the Council of Europe standards and recommendations.
During the event, the discussion was held over the presentation of the results of the implementation of the Work Plan for the period of January - December 2021 and the approval of the Work Plan for the period of January - August 2022.
The discussion was attended by the Deputy Head of the Co-operation Programmes Division of the Council of Europe Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law, the representatives from the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia, the Ministry of Justice, ''Centre for Legislation Development and Legal Research'' Foundation, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ethics and Disciplinary Commission of the General Assembly of Judges, the Commission for Performance Evaluation of Judges of the General Assembly of Judges, the Academy of Justice, the Chamber of Advocates and other national partners.
This event was organised in the framework of the project ''Support to the judicial reform – enhancing the independence and professionalism of the judiciary in Armenia," funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe in their Partnership for Good Governance II (2019-2022).
