Within the framework of the South Programme II, the first workshop on the Intercultural Cities (ICC) for Jordan was held in Amman, on 1 February 2016.
The meeting aimed at discussing the establishment of a national network in the country. It brought together representatives of eleven Jordanian cities as well as the Ministry for Municipal Affairs for an exchange of views and experiences in dealing with the refugee and migration issues, integration and the ICC’s diversity approach to building intercultural societies.
An overview of the ICC concepts and examples of projects were provided to the municipalities committed to participating in the ICC Programme, followed by a brainstorming session which helped identify areas for projects relevant to Jordanian municipalities.
