Armenia: Joint Opinion of the Venice Commission and the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe

The Venice Commission adopted a joint opinion on the draft laws on making amendments to the Constitutional Law on the Judicial Code and to the Constitutional Law on the Constitutional Court of Armenia, prepared together with the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law (DGI) of the Council of Europe following the request by Mr Karen Andreasyan, Minister of Justice of Armenia by letter of 16 December 2021.

This joint opinion was drafted on the basis of comments by the rapporteurs and of the online meetings. Following an exchange of views with Mr Karen Andreasyan, Minister of Justice of Armenia, the joint opinion was adopted by the Venice Commission at its 130th Plenary Session held on 18-19 March 2022.

This opinion was prepared under the Quick Response Mechanism (QRM), in the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint programme Partnership for Good Governance, funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
