On 16 September, the INSCHOOL team participated in the official opening of the outdoor community centre of the Biharkeresztes Bocskai Istvan Elementary School - one of the selected 8 schools in INSCHOOL Hungary.
The event was attended by the Mayor of Biharkeresztes, a Member of the Hungarian Parliament, entrepreneurs in the area, as well as teachers, children attending the school, their parents and grandparents.
The outdoor community centre was financed by the INSCHOOL Joint Project of the European Union and Council of Europe under a Grant Agreement concluded in April 2019, with the objective of building a closer relationship with community members and encourage participation for everyone in the schools’ life. The definition of needs and decision-making related to the design of the Outdoor Community Centre were made in consultation with pupils and parents and in line with the principles described in the "Index for Inclusion"*.
In addition, as of September 2019, the outdoor community centre will be the focus of activities promoting a healthy life style.
*Dimension B: Producing inclusive policies, especially B1: Developing the School for All, particularly linked to indicator 11, which states: “The buildings and grounds are developed to support the participation of all.”
